3DS Max stuffs...First, I'd like to mention that your 3DS Max files seem to have disappeared. I dunno where they wandered off to, but I can't find them.Second, a little history on 3DS Max itself. Max is actually the Windows version of the original 3D Studio (a DOS app) from Kinetix, the same company that "ported" it to Windows NT. Yes, 3DS Max r1 was NT-only, since 95 was probably not around yet at the time. Max added several features, including the brand-new, never-before-seen (much less thought of) Character Studio. Max r1 was the most powerful 3D modeler in the universe at that time. Maya has since taken over, but 3DS has maintained a close second. Where did I get that from? I actually have a book, "Learn 3D Studio Max", which covers how to use the full potential of Max r1, and it contains a history of Max as well as an exhaustive tutorial-format explanation of virtually every built-in feature Max r1 came with. It even goes a bit into plugins, but that's mostly for effect. Anyhow, just thought I'd toss that in there. - Sendoshin |
